What is CELTA?

The Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELTA) is a teacher training qualification provided by Cambridge Assessment English through authorised Cambridge English Teaching Qualification Centres.

CELTA is one of the most prestigious and widely recognised international professional English Language Teaching qualifications worldwide.

 

The training centre is part of our language school, meaning that trainees experience life in a real school environment surrounded by English language learners of all levels and ages.

Who is CELTA for?

You should take the course if you:

  • wish to start a career in TEFL
  • want to teach English during your gap year
  • are an experienced teacher wishing to have more formal training.
  • are looking for a career change.

CELTA will provide you with the skills you need.

Entry requirements
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a minimum high C1 level of English
  • Have a level of education equivalent to university entrance
Application process
  • Complete and send the application form
  • Receive pre-interview tasks
  • Interview either in person or via Skype

Acceptance is at the discretion of the centre once your application has been assessed.

And after CELTA?

Candidates who successfully complete the course will be equipped to work in a variety of English language teaching contexts around the world. CELTA is regulated at Level 5 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is suitable for teachers at Foundation and Developing level on the Cambridge English Teaching Framework.
